Ed Kilroy

Chief Executive Officer

Ed Kilroy was appointed Chief Executive Officer effective January 10, 2005.  Prior to joining Symcor, Ed served as President, IBM Canada Ltd. where he was responsible for delivering information technology products, solutions and services to the Canadian marketplace. Ed has a proven record of leading and growing technology-based organizations marked by over 20 years of progressive and diverse work experience at IBM. He began his career at IBM in 1982 and held a number of senior executive positions in sales, marketing and services in Canada, the United States and Australia including: Director of Marketing for the IBM Personal Computer Company, Canada; Vice President and General Manager of IBM Global Services, Canada; General Manager and CEO of IBM Global Services, Australia/New Zealand; and General Manager of Electronic Commerce in their Software Solutions Division, Somers, New York where he was responsible for IBM's overall electronic commerce strategy and software products that enable business-to-business and business-to-consumer electronic commerce. 



Phil Armstrong

Executive Vice President and Chief Information Officer

As Executive Vice President and Chief Information Officer, Phil Armstrong provides overall leadership to Symcor’s technology team. He is responsible for the company’s technology strategy including Symcor’s technology roadmap and delivery of client-centric solutions that drive our business strategies. He has over 25 years of technology and business operations experience centered on the financial services, investment and insurance industries in Canada and internationally. He has proven experience in establishing IT infrastructures, managing global integrations and delivering large-scale, complex technology solutions. Prior to Symcor, Phil held several senior IT executive positions at Manulife Financial. His last role was Senior Vice President and Corporate Chief Technology Officer with direct responsibility for global information technology projects. 



Cindy Gorelle

Senior Vice President, Human Resources

Cindy joined Symcor in 2007, and is responsible for leading Symcor's human resources and communications teams and for driving the company's HR business strategy. She brings to Symcor 20 years of progressive HR experience from General Electric, Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce and Imperial Oil. Cindy was most recently with CIBC as Vice President, HR Client Services where she helped in developing and implementing the global HR vision, strategy, policies and programs for their worldwide employee base. The greater part of her career was with GE, where she held senior HR leadership positions in their manufacturing, technology, financial and professional services businesses including four years as Vice President, HR for GE Capital IT Solutions Canada. She gained her U.S. operations experience while at GE where she was HR Manager, North American Operations for one of their GE Capital businesses. Prior to GE, Cindy worked at Esso Petroleum providing HR support to their Pacific Marketing Region.



Tim Relke

Senior Vice President, Marketing and Product Management

Tim Relke joined Symcor in 2005 and is responsible for the marketing and product management of Symcor’s products and services, as well as development of new business opportunities that leverage and extend Symcor’s current capabilities. Tim has 20 years of corporate development, finance, product development, marketing and sales experience within a broad range of companies from small and medium web service providers to large information technology and business process outsourcers, including IBM and ISM Information Systems Management Corporation.  


Chameli Naraine

Senior Vice President, Strategy

Chameli Naraine joined Symcor in 2008 and is responsible for setting the strategy, market and solutions offerings for the company’s U.S. business. She has over 25 years of global experience in technology, manufacturing and financial services industries most recently as Executive Vice President of Corporate Operations for National City Bank, a large U.S. financial services company. In this role, she was directly responsible for check processing, cash management, statement, trust and capital market operations. She was also responsible for developing strategies and building capabilities to enable innovative changes in the U.S. Payments System. Chameli leveraged her extensive experience to build “state of the art” production environments in the financial service industry. She is a proven results-oriented leader with a track record in designing and implementing operational excellence capabilities.

 

 



 



Tom Cronin

Executive Vice President Corporate Operations and Chief Financial Officer

Tom Cronin joined Symcor in 2003 and is responsible for aligning North American corporate functions with Symcor’s core business strategies. In addition to his role as Chief Financial Officer, he has oversight responsibility for Human Resources, Legal Services, Real Estate & Facilities, Procurement and other corporate functions. Tom has more than 20 years experience internationally in the outsourcing and technology sectors servicing multinational customers. During his career he has worked with Ernst & Young LLP in Canada and Europe and with Systemhouse in Corporate Finance roles in North America and Europe.



Norma Mayer

Senior Vice President, Client Relations

Norma Mayer joined Symcor in 1999 and leads a team responsible for providing end-to-end client support for Symcor’s banking clients in Canada. Norma is also responsible for service delivery support to our non-banking clients, working directly with the Commercial Sales team. She also has overall responsibility for Symcor’s Customer Satisfaction Program. Norma has over 20 years of multi-faceted experience in product marketing, sales and financial planning with General Electric and advertising management with McDonald’s in the U.S., as well as strategic planning, change management and business unit leadership with RBC Financial Group.

Mike Thomas

Senior Vice President and General Manager - USA

Mike Thomas has responsibility for the sales, delivery and operations of Symcor’s current and planned solution portfolios to the U.S. market. Mike joined Symcor in 2006 with over 25 years of U.S. financial services sales and management experience with Unisys Corporation. His career began at Burroughs/Unisys, where he was promoted to a succession of senior sales and marketing positions. His experience includes managing strategic partners and channels, payment imaging and branch automation and check payment solutions for large financial accounts, as well as leading the marketing, engineering and sales execution strategy for all payment platform solutions at the global level.



Lloyd MacDonald

Senior Vice President, Item Processing Operations

As Senior Vice President, Item Processing Operations, Lloyd has overall responsibility for Symcor’s item processing operations across Canada. He joined Symcor in 1997 initially as Director, Operations Support and then Regional Vice President for Toronto’s item processing operations. In his current position, Lloyd leads the Canadian operations that support the delivery of Symcor’s Canadian check-based and item processing services as well as implementing Truncation and Electronic Check Presentment into Symcor’s operations. Lloyd began his career with Royal Bank and had over 23 years experience primarily in managing regional operations in several locations across Canada and at head office where he had national support responsibility for Processing Centre.


Meegan Hinds

Senior Vice President and General Manager, Integrated Statement Services

Meegan joined Symcor in 2008 as general manager of the company’s Integrated Statement Services business with responsibility for all aspects of its strategy, operations and sales in Canada. She has extensive experience selling and delivering IT and business process outsourcing services to clients in a variety of industries. A seasoned executive with solid experience in managing large outsourcing operations, Meegan spent more than 20 years in various leadership positions at IBM. She was most recently Vice President, IBM Global Technology Services Canada responsible for locally and globally delivered infrastructure and application outsourcing services to clients in the transportation, retail, telecommunications and industrial sectors.

 

Gary Eisen

Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary

Gary Eisen has responsibility for all legal aspects at Symcor including outsourcing transactions. He joined in 1998 and has spent more than 20 years in technology and commercial law. This included 10 years with Nortel Networks, where he was responsible for worldwide contracting and support for a major line of business in the United States. Most of his legal work has been in Canada and the U.S. with a significant component in Europe.
